I took the Advanced Certificate in Crime Investigation at Stanmore School of Business, and it was a solid experience. The course covered a lot of ground, from forensic psychology to investigative techniques. I liked that the instructors were all seasoned pros with real-world experience. The practical exercises were helpful, especially the ones on surveillance and interrogation. The course was pretty demanding, but it was worth it. My only suggestion would be to add more Latin American case studies, as the majority of examples were from the US or Europe. Still, I feel like I gained some valuable skills and knowledge that I can use in my work as a private investigator.

As a detective with the South African Police Service, I was looking to upskill and gain some new insights into the latest investigative techniques. The course delivered on that front, with some excellent modules on forensic accounting, crime scene management, and interview techniques. The course materials were comprehensive and well-structured, and I appreciated the flexibility of the online platform. My only criticism would be that some of the examples and case studies were a bit too focused on European or North American contexts – it would be great to see more African examples in the future. Nevertheless, I feel like I gained some valuable knowledge and skills that I can apply in my work, and I'd definitely recommend the course to my colleagues.
